A couple of days ago in Lille, Angelo grabbed me by the shoulder, just minutes before he was due on stage, to show me his upcoming exclusive Legacy of Ten artwork. You may have seen banners & ads here and there, but up to now, the info was, to say the least, scarce... Has Angelo picked up a new painting carreer?
I was stunned by what Angelo showed me and, since, I've had the chance to talk to Cory, the project manager for the Legacy of Ten Series (which also include art from other musicians like George Lynch or The Pixies). Here is a peek behind the curtain.
We’ve heard that Angelo Moore art collection is titled The Last Supper. Why is that?
Angelo’s piece is a recreation of the Da Vinci piece, just with a ton of Angelo’s personality and artistry thrown in. This is Angelo’s Last Supper and there will be apostles at the table, but there will also be some other figures that are highly important to Moore. It’s beautiful, funny, and highly visual in my opinion.
So, there are 100 drafts of The Last Supper that are going to be available?
This is true. It is a mixed media piece on canvas. Angelo’s collection will feature photography, graphic art, and collage in each version. The basic framework of the piece is photography that is then put through a rigorous creative exercise that Angelo did with our team to eventually look and feel like the Da Vinci piece. We are printing 100 of these before Angelo adds special fine art touches to each before they are available. It is a lengthy process, but the end result is fantastic.
What are the sizes of each piece?
Each draft of Angelo’s series is 40 inches by 30 inches (100cm by 75cm). These are large pieces of contemporary art. Perfect for a home or a studio. Definitely, the ultimate conversation piece when it is framed and hung.
What about pricing?
Pricing will be announced in July, but I can tell you that Angelo is very adamant about making each affordable to every fan that wants one. Remember this is his anniversary year…30 years of making music…he wants each to go to people that have supported his career and love what he has done.
