Fishbone announced today that lineup changes were to be expected for the upcoming Fishbone shows. John Steward later confirmed that Norwood Fisher, Dirty Walt Kibby and himself were out of the band. The upcoming shows will thus feature a completely new lineup, fronted by Angelo Moore and Chris Dowd. Though there hasn't been official announcements on new members, Mark Philips should stay on guitars and the rhythm section should be made up of Hassan Hurd on drums and Aroyn Day on bass.
Fishbone has been through many (often unannounced) lineup changes over the years and the roster of past Fishbone members is impressive. Losing two original members of the band and its steady backbone of the past 25 years is certainly a challenge, and some may question the legitimacy of this new lineup to be called Fishbone, but here, at Fishbonelive.org, we know that each new incarnation of the band has brought positive energy and renewal. We also know that no change has been irreversible and that time has mended differences in the past. Fishbonelive.org supports all members past and present in their individual endeavors. We will keep doing so, whatever the reasons behind this evolution.
