John Bigham has announced on instagram and facebook that he will be playing guitar with fishbone on the current september tour. Rocky is not on this tour as fishbone soldiers, who have seen the Portland show (first date of the tour), told us.
Phillip Fish Fisher has also posted a message on facebook (see below).
Then all of a sudden, John (JB) Bigham returned to his place amongst the body of The Bone. And it was stronger.. Then a new hope arose with a sound reminiscent of greater days. And the people waited eagerly to witness five of the Savage Seven testify with great reverence again.

The line-up of the Chim Chim era is also complete with the unexpected RETURN of JOHN BIGHAM for the next tour after 20 years! The most underrated fishbone member. JB have played with fIshbone from 1990 to 1997.
FISH had played all the fishbone shows since, except the Hendrix Tribute at The Apollo in Harlem, NY : it was John Steward on the drums that night for his "last" show with Fishbone...

So the line-up will be Angelo Moore, Walter Kibby, Phillip FISH Fisher, Norwood Fisher, John Bigham, Rocky George, Jay Armant and Paul Hampton. Yes, 8 members.
The rumors are now confirmed. Fishbone played at a private event Saturday September 17th 2016 with its original lineup. This had not happened in 23+ years. The last time the original members of Fishbone were documented live together was precisely 24 years ago, at the Warfield in San Francisco, on September 18th 1992 (there were a few gigs through October 1992 where they probably played together).
The significance of this reunion gig is yet unclear. Is this a one off? Will they be touring together? It's certainly too soon to tell, and it's quite hard to make something out of the secrecy surrounding this historical event. If it were not for Fish who published the reunion pic 10 days ago, this gig might very well have stayed unnoticed. We are left with questions, and a shady 40 seconds instagram...
We hope that those fortunate enough to have attended this historical event enjoyed the show, and -who knows ?- made a soundboard recording for all the rest of us ;-)
