It is highly possible that Bonin' in the Boneyard was written after this show, during an after show party with locals at the Goleta Cemetery.
From Fedj Sylvanus ' well of Fishbone anecdotes:
“Bonin” went through a good bit of changes from the original written after a college show on our first US tour where the local kids invited several of the guys to hang out after the show. I can’t remember where exactly but it was a local favorite to hang out in the graveyard and party undisturbed. It was Memorial Day weekend or perhaps Veterans Day and there were American flags at each veteran’s gravestone which were promptly gathered up by the local kids and made for good kindling to start a fire to keep everyone warm, (so the story goes when they returned to the RV in the wee hours of the morning.) Needless to say, there was a lot of drunken frolicking amongst some of the local gals in attendance and Norwood wrote the song shortly after. It was a much slower tempo in the beginning and by the time it was ready to record, it had been fine tuned to the uptempo version on the record. From the git go, it always featured an extended bass solo and I think that may well have lent to the decision to kick the tempo up a bit. Norwood wanted to show his prowess of the instrument and the original tempo was just too slow for him to “show off,” if ya follow my drift.
