FISHBONE — BEACH SCENE at Cabrillo Beach on August 2, 1986. Angelo & Walter pictured here. You can see Aaron White's head on the bottom left holding a video camera. There was a chain link fence separating the band and crowd, and Aaron got to go on the other side of the fence to film. He filmed fIREHOSE that day too. Of course, he lost the tape. This stage was set up on the surf side of Cabrillo in the sand. Pretty decent crowd for Fishbone. 

1ST ANNUAL BEACH SCENE FESTIVAL at Cabrillo Beach — August 2, 3, 1986. fIREHOSE opened up this festival at 10am with an introduction by Mayor Tom Bradley on a stage setup on the sand on the calm side of Cabrillo. I think this was intended to be an annual thing, but I don't think the city was happy with the way things went down. At some point I recall a mini riot breaking out and cops on horseback swinging their bully clubs at people. Lots of fights — I recall all of Pedro stood united against any outsider trouble that went down. The birth of wine coolers and free samples. Standouts included: fIREHOSE & Fishbone. Other bands of interest included: WAR, Blood on the Saddle, Faith No More, Sparks, the Untouchables, Missing Persons & the Pandoras.
