Fishbone were playing at the Paradiso club in Amsterdam last monday ,this is my`
review of their concert.
First of all, the warmup band was Liquid Jesus. Never heard of them but they looked
like a cool band. The music also was sort of a crossover, more metal than funk
though. The guitarist of this band I liked very much, he played some real screamin'
guitar. On the whole a nice new (?) band. Check 'em out.
Well then it started Fishbone started 15 minutes late but who cares. It took awhile
for Angelo Moore to come on stage (the band was playing some kind of jam). But when
he finally got there it was THE POGO !!! It was great to hear the band play the
songs from 'Reality Of My Surroundings' but even better that they played the early
ones too, like Ugly. At one point Angelo decided to jump into the crowd, because
they didn't pogo enough. He got everybody in Paradiso moving and I mean everybody.
Ofcourse he walked past me and Angelo shook hands with a friend of mine.
Well what can I say, the whole concert was fantastic, it was one big energy wave.
Here are some songs they played:
Reality of my surroundings, Babyhead, Freddy's dead, Mighty long way, fight the
youth, all 4 pieces of `If I ..... I'd ... , Ugly, Sunless Saturday, Pray to the
junkeymaker, Everyday sunshine, etc, etc...
I got me a fantastic f-bone TeeShirt with a fishbone label on front and 'fishbone'
printed on the back. The next night I discovered it was fluorescent (you know what
I mean).
If you have got any other concert or album reviews, maybe bootleg's or singles, let
me know.
