There were 5 bands total, and I got there during the second band's set. The
band was Primitive Reason. They were ok, but I only heard a few songs. My
impression was that they had some good ideas, but needed to tighten it up a
bit 'cause their time seemed to sway a little.
The third band (don't remember their name) sounded a lot like green day to
me. Very tight, but very little depth.
The fourth band was Green Jello. I knew very little about these guys, so I
didn't know what to expect, but WOW! They put on one hell of a show. They
wear these crazy ass costumes and and romp around the stage and tear shit
up. Not musically complex or even interesting, really, but an amazing
visual performance. That set alone would have made my night, if it weren't
for the 'bone.
The last band was Fishbone. What can I say? They smoked. They played for
something like two hours and I couldn't get enough. I was watching Spacy a
lot 'cause thats where I was most of the set, and he's got some crazy tricks
'n effects 'n things. I thought I was hearing things the last time I saw
them, but he's got some unit that somehow takes the sound and flips it
backwards. Anyone know what unit I'm talking about? Anyway, I couldn't
have asked for a better show.
I'm out,
