They seem to go in cycles.. right now they seem to be on an extra heavy
stint. It was a good show, although they started late and I was actually
pretty tired to be in the front middle this time.. didn't have as much
energy as I would have liked for all that jumpin around..
I'm going to have to check out Dirty Walt's new album.. they opened with one
of his songs and it was the funkiest thing they played all night.
Norwood had a new Warwick.. the corvette body with a stingray pickup and a
jazz pickup.. It was your average warwick sound, from what I could tell at
that loud volume.. lots of thump. He also played an unlined fretless thumb
NT 5 and that acoustic 5 (can't remember what kind). The acoustic was
really bright.. he slapped all three basses.. going through the Hughes and
Ketner as usual.
They had some fascination with seeing how slow they could play a few of
their songs, like Shakey Ground and the Suffering. It really was like slow
motion; it almost seemed to me like audience torture or something (because
the audience will try to dance as hard as they can no matter how slow)!
Then they would take it to the opposite extreme by playing a fast song 100x
faster than usual causing instant tornado in the pit.
It's always interesting to see pretty girls doing hippy belly dances to the
fastest and hardest songs.. hehe!
Norwood has some long fingers.
Oh yeah, they also played some new stuff.. hard and fast.
