For no particular reason, we took 2 cars from Nashville to Memphis which ended up totally saving us be cause my radiator blew up halfway there. We almost didn't complete the mission when that happened, and then when we got there I had to force my civilian friends into the club cause they were sayin "I can't spend that much money to watch a band." I was extremely confident that no one would have buyer's remorse, and indeed all 5 people had immense fun.
Angelo was playing some underground sourpuss remix before the show, you guys had probably heard it, I hadn't. That's when Keisha and her friend and I started getting warmedup with some shots. Later K would be onstage singing "Subliminal Fascism".
Man, Walt and Blowfly were TIGHT that night. Blowfly even did an encore cause people wouldn't let the man leave. Angelo got up and spit the fire like I'd never seen it, Including the piece which is a crazy play on words including elements of his custody battle. My friends were quickly impressed with his literal gymnastics. Then he did the shocker of the tour "Fishy swa ska"!
Then the Bone came on, and I was so ready for it I could hardly contain myself. That night we got Dance it down, Riot, Monkey, and Skankin' Go Nutts which was the highlight of the night (Angelo swam all over during that one). They even played Fishbone is Red Hot.
I don't know if this was my favorite show ever, but the "Ground Zero Get Down Tour" was defiantly my favorite Tour ever. Not having to wait between bands is a great bonus.
