Been a F'BONE "lurker" for goin' on 3 yrs now and
I must say I'm always impressed by the energy of
F'BONE shows. I busted in on the set when DR MADD VIBE
was doin' his speil. I met up with Stuart, Adam and
his wife. It was a real cool deal. Thanks mucho Adam.
I'll let someone else supply the setlist cuz I was phased
out. Norwood was fierce on bass (and butt-naked under a
tunic). My special F'BONE joy is always in the grooves
of SPACEY-T, so I'm diggin' his riffs and flying FUNK signs
at him. F'BONE was very enjoyable, but the ongoing bad mix
at KEY CLUB prevailed. The crowd was, as always, RED HOT!,
but the vox was pretty muddy. I copped some CDs downstairs:
THE ESSENTIAL and then the new KING's X release.
KING'S X was the headliner and took the stage with a great set of tunes,
This was my first time seeing them live and I'm adding them
to my "MUST SEE" list. The total funkativity of the two fan groups
was apparent. Quite a few KX fans were amazed (a few were
anger)angered, but the fun of it all won out) at the moshing and all was
cool when the "FISHBONE iz RED HOTT!" chant went up (though there
was some drunk dork who tried to tell me they ain't comin' back; which
was totally unnecessary).
I almost made it down to SD last nite, but I was hangin' at the crib
earning "DADDY PTS". In addition to those list members, I met up with
KING's X fans. I missed ya Lady Nuttmeg, but I think I seen ya at Fais
Do-Do (and Temple Bar) a couple of times (last Fri and last Trulio show
where Jabudah opened).
