ok...it's time that somebody post somethin...
the ABART is a very cool location for a FISHBONE show. And so the people get a very powerful fishbone concert that night. it was the best performance so far that I've seen of the new formation. Only Angelo and Norwood are Fishbone members of the original group. But there are some fine additions (Dre Gipson.....nice to have a keyboard player agin, Rocky George...nice haircut...hehe... a very unique style of axe treatment...yeah).
Angelo is one of the best performers and singers that I've ever seen in my life. he was in a very good mood probably cuz it was also his birthday that nite. Norwood as always suuper fat basslines so the other soldiers can freak out to the max:

unyielding conditioning
the suffering
party with saddam (new)
skank N go nuttz (new)
ma and pa
karna tsunami
freyd fuckin nerve endings (new)
freddies dead (with a crazy funked out break wow.....pleeeze play that shit 10 minutes or more next time... now thats that FUNK)
hide behind my glasses (what a version....man)
forever more (new)
alcoholic
ugly
sunless saturday
everyday sunshine (now thats gospel folks)
the devil made me do it
party at ground zero (encore....dope)

probably i forgot one or two tracks
truly I have to say that the man behind the mixing board was totally crap.
he did not have the sensivity to mix that concert. so were the backing vocals much tooo loud 4 nearly the damn whole show.
also the bass sounded sometimes to overdistored...he was completly asleep or had his ears in his shorts...f**k.

THANX TO ANGELO: he signd my 1989 promo 12" of Curtis Mayfield feat. Fishbone "he's a fly guy". But it seemed that he wasn't to glad to see this record agin. all he said: "Oh I know all about that one"..strange init? Probably the guys really dont have very good experiences with major labels... anyway thank YOU.

Its great that fishbone do what they do best: KICK ASS in a very pure energetic absolutly trademark way. Go to the show and support this band agin and agin. everything changes but FISHBONE is always FISHBONE. Angelo is really a soldier for life. It's always a big pleasure to see these guys play...yeah.

last: I really miss DirtyWalt, hope you are doin well and fine. Miss your crip walk movement and the songs you used to play of your album. Pleez reunite the COLUMBUS SANATATION cuz I truly need more of that....hope to see you soon again.

Hi,

sorry for the late review, a lot of things kept me away from the computer.

I went to Abart with 3 friends, all Fishbone soldiers. We arrived in time for the first two bands, which were good, but not as funny as Wolfunkind.

The Abart is a really tiny club and the big problem there, is the stage, if you can call this a stage! Just a podium... And there were Fishbone instruments laying in a corner with just some kind of movable fence to protect them. Scary !

There was a good vibe in the attendance and the show was good. But I felt that Fishbone were a bit tired and so was I.

The setlist was a good mix of old and new songs. But it was I think the first time (I don't count Temple bar shows, because there were fast only new songs) that they didn't play 'Bonin'.

I like very much this formation with a lot of horns and the keyboard. I would like a second guitarist, Rocky is very good but on some numbers like 'Sunless saturday' I missed something.

My friends enjoyed the show as all people there (a lot of people for a sunday night). There were a bunch of funny french guys as old as me with GAMAB tour shirts that were moving the crowd. Good to see old fans still partying like in the 90's

Last words of Angelo : "I wish my Brother George was here" ;)
