I went to the show at Club Bene last night. Angelo was as always
selling his poetry book and spending lots of time stamping them before
the show. I talked to him a bit and mentioned the listserve and the web
pages. He said he was aware of them but doesn't own a computer. I also
bought the book. I asked him who the new members are and he said
something like "Ronnie T" on guitar, but I didn't get the keyboardist's
name. They both turned out to be pretty good, especially the guitarist,
but I'm not much of a judge. The keyboardist messed up some of the songs
and Angelo kept prompting him on stage, but he played well and he
also plays some brass. Somebody requested "The Cube" but Angelo said
they can't play that because not everyone knows it, yet. I overheard Angelo
talking to someone about Chris calling him. Angelo said the conversation
with Chris was really tense and he was glad when the operator cut them off
with "deposit 20 cents please." He also said the conversation ended in time
before he got into the "Why the fuck did you leave" part of the conversation.
The show itself was energetic. The crowd was pretty sparse,
however. Angelo is indeed both bald and eyebrowless. Fish played with
his back to the audience. Angelo recited that poem about his daughter
and how he's not getting along with the mother who I think he said is his
wife. He also alluded to her in the intro for Lyin' Ass Bitch.
They played from about 10:15 to almost 1.

Norwood told a story before the last two songs about going into a
Portugese restaurant with his son near the club. He said that the waiter
wouldn't bring water unless they ordered first and that it would be
preferrable if they payed first in cash. All of this because his boss
knew alot about "you people." Norwood left and went to a Chinese
restaurant. They were asking for a grafiti artist to "decorate" the
restaurant.
Of the ten times I've seen them, this show was probably right around the
middle overall but definitely near the top for total songs played. It
would have been much better with a bigger crowd.
