Wow, 2h30+ of pure Fishbone madness. Parisian crowds are always great, and Le Plan was nicely filled to capacity (400+). After a short set by french gay headbangers Wolfunkind telling us the real story behind the love affair between David Starsky and Ken Hutchinson. Fishbone took the stage around 8:45 and did not stop until 11:15. Pretty good mix of old songs with an emphasis on T&S & ROMS and a very large selection from the new CD (not all really new songs, premadawnutt was first played back in 98...).

Highlights:
-glasses, sung 100% by angelo from the pit
-closed doors: this is an incredibly good song
-the Hoes-sub.Fascism-servitude transition

lowlights:
-ma & pa coming way too soon in the set (i usually take advantage of the song to rehydrate)
-no lose our minds, but the crowd was really into requesting it. (hence the 9/10 vote)
-there was this tall guy in a yellow 'blaise compaore' T-shirt who would not stop dancing - it was really annoying.

MAN !!!
Yeah Denis, you're right, 2h30 of Fishbone ! A great show once again.
My friends and I took a 150 km trip to go there and see Fishbone and it was really worth it ! Now I'm sure Fishbone is back, same energy as in the early 90's. And same good vibes between the band members. I love seeing them laugh and they're obviously happy to be on stage together and perpetuate the Fishbone story...
I only rated 9/10 because I missed some songs like "Unyielding Conditionning" or "Everyday Sunshine"... The parisian shows are always more rock than ska...
At a point, Norwood started the "Poem Dance" bass line and I was hoping they'll go on and play it but it turned into "Servitude"... really great song, but I would have loved to hear "Poem Dance" live !

... plus I got all the members sign on my CD cover and a couple of photos with Angelo, Norwood and Rocky... (Thanx H?l?ne !!!)

We'll be there on the 29th at le Forum to have another dose of our medecine !

Just a word on Wolfunkind, they did a really good opening and it's a shame that the audience didn't respond... but playing in front of people wiating for Fishbone must not be easy !

The sound in this place is great, close to perfection, by the way...

Great Musicianship all show long!

Rythm/Horns section incredibly tight.
Norwood gave some really juicy Bass playing. Pure slap.

John Steward drove the whole ship with fury.
Very little time for him to rest considering they played
two hours and half.... But the man is strong and heavily muscled. Ter a Terre will release actually a calendar 2007
called "Mr Steward-The very Best Nude Shots"...
Ladies, check it out !!!

Rocky is like a fish in the pond. Elegant manners
on strings and suddenly playing completely out of his mind.
Tension. Release. Tension. I think his fingers hurt him really bad at a certain point during the show.

I found Dre gipson maybe less shy with the mic that time
than the previous shows in paris. He is starting loosing Nutts the which makes the fusion Dre Gipson/Angelo Moore more and more interesting to hear/see. Brilliant keyboard playing !

Curtis Story is bringing trumpet sound to the very next level into Fishbone music. Interesting show! really interesting i tell thee !

Mc knight... :/)
I don't know how he can juggle from trombone to guitar to singing back to trombone but he actually does it with constancy and artistry. Herr professor !

Did I forget someone ?
Yes, angelo!
Inspired and graceful but that, everyone knows it.

Yes, I agree the sound is as good as in the 90's
but we're in 2006 and the Fishbone phoenix has
very strong wings. Damn strong !

Early days I've been to the Festivaldemarne-Choisy le roi,and Ris-Orangis-le plan and it was AMAZING!!!
These guys fu.... rules!!!
I guess I'll be in Vaureal-le forum-even if it's 200 kms far from home
I swear I'll never miss them again!!!!!

Ps: yes,the guy with yellow t-shirt was boring!!! Fish.. didn't play "where 'd you get those paints"but I didn't bother anyone with that.
