Last nights show in Richmond was another amazing show...though it seems they shortened the show a bit...the set list was
Nothing but a thing (guess they are not playing the same walt songs every night)
Nuttmegworld
Skankin to the Beat
Karma Tsunami
Skank'n' go Nutz
in the Heat of Anger (is this the extra song from the Japanese version of Nuttwurx?)
-some song that wasn't on the set list...maybe what was listed as "bring a donut" from the D.C. show
Frey'd Nerve
Prima Dawnnutt
Bonin' in the Boneyard
Shakey Ground (still that amazing soulful slow version, and I think here the 3 MC's from AKP came up and added some undecipherable vocals)
Suffering (another slowed down version)
Alcoholic
Pressure
Riot
Freddie's Dead
Servitude
Encore:
Aids
Party at ground Zero
The show started real early, the 'bone came on at 9:45. Talked to Steward for about 15 minutes before the show. He wasn't an ass like some other person said, he was really cool, just chillin and using his sticks against the brick wall along with AKP...speaking of which, I asked him about them...he said that the 'bone chose them to tour with them, and said the yeah they were really different from the 'bone, but "how are you gonna find good new music if you never listen to anything new" (course, on this list, that's preachin' to the choir...if there is anything this list seems to be dedicated to other than our belove FishBone, it's new music)...anyway, he also talked about the new music,
saying they were going back to their old sound (although I don't know which sound...from what I heard, it sounded like back to Reality or GAMAB rather than T&S or In your Face), and that they were really happy with their current lineup, and weren't looking to add anybody.
The sound was good, but there were some equipment problems...Angelo had some problems with the Theremin, and their monitors seemed to keep cutting off (much of this was probably due to the front row of the pit constantly bumping and moving them), as well as one of the roadies kept messing up with the saxes (not coming out with the right one, or one at all, or coming out to take it back). Also, it was the first time in a while that I saw them all with wired mic's...it seriously limits Angelos surfing (although he did give it ~4 good attempts...and only fell to the floor once, but it was his own fault...towards the end of Party, some guy came up on the stage, and Angelo wanted to use him as a good example, and "throw a bomb into the crowd", so he made the kid take a long running leap into the crowd..they held him pretty well, but when angelo came diving in and landed smack down on the kid, both went crasing to the floor...of course, the Dr. never stopped singing, even with the mic cord wrapped
around his neck.) Anyway, I'll have to see what the show is like tonight in Virginia Beach...but's it's sure to be 'da bomb'...well, whatever...
...sorry for the long and mostly incoherent message...
