Yep, my ears have the beep as well. Holy shit what a show, raw energy and very very tight set. Indeed it took some ma & pa before the audience really grew into it, but after that it got wild. If this is the shows we're going to get 4 more times here in Holland, I've got to start doing something about my condition, man I'm exhausted!!!!
slip (jens)
PS: Next time, Patronaat, maybe meet up with everybody who's going??

I was in Tivoli too! After taking the looong way around to find it...(and losing my way on the way back...yeah)
Tivoli is indeed a very nice venue (much better than the f*cking Boerderij where I had the displeasure to try and watch two concerts last time...boeren) it's like a little smaller Nighttown in Rotterdam or something. Alright, the opening band, the "Chop Shop" was really good, actually. (they were really the band 'Beef'...not that any of you give a damn, it was a good warm up, people were relaxed and really in the mood for the Bone. During the stage build up, I was ordering a beer at one of the bar and I spotted Angelo on the other side, trying to order some pre show drinks, I guess...I smiled at him and I think he smiled back.(too bad I didn't get a chance to talk to him) Fifteen minutes later or so he was already on stage, in his cool suit and the bowler hat, fiddling around with the Theramin. He even struck a cool 'hand' pose for a photographer! Sorry to correct Arne on this, but they definetely did NOT start with 'Squewze Me...' it was Definitely 'Jah Jah on the Telephone' Cool build up to an almost Ear-Splitting volume....and then Walt came on stage and they went into Nuttmeg World. Up untill then the crowd around me was a bit lame, but then they played Sunless Saturday and I just couldn't hold back anymore (despite of my sour back...ouch!) And went wild....after that: BEERGUTT!!!! And that did it....place went wild. Well after that I can't remember the sequence just that they played Mom and Pa......BONIN"!!!(whooooohaaa!!!) and Cholly..(fat chicks!!) and Question of Life (place went really nutz at that.) The new stuff: Skank and Go nuttz, Are you Wid it really went down well. Then Angelo yelled: RIOT!!! into the mic, and dove into the crowd directly after that, leaving Walt and Norwood to sing the song. Now, I think he was lucky to be caught that time....because it wasn't as packed in the front as it should be, and well. people just didn't expect it, I think...but maybe I'm wrong.. don't mean to diss the true Soldiers up there.! Karma Tsunami, Alcoholic, Skankin' to the beat, and then Party...end of show. Well, not really, offcause, we wouldn't let them go. First encore was Last Dayz, after that Spacey T took his solo-spot and did a good solo that turned via Red House into Aids and Armageddon.. (super song that). Second Encore was Demon and sadly, that's when I had to leave, or I would've missed my train home...and I almost did. So I missed Fishbone is Red Hot! DAMN!! I think I'll catch them again at Nighttown Rotterdam on 25/11...Fishbone has touched down in Europe and Yes, they're still large here. I think they'll sell some cd's after this tour...just keep coming back, earn some money, release a super cd, earn a little more, tour a little more and they'll be alright.

My first and best Fishbone show I've ever seen!
This was my review before I saw the current line up in Brussels! Now this is the best Fishbone show I've ever seen except one. But still tha 'Bone totally blew me away in Tivoli, and I was so sad I had to leave early to catch a train. I don't think I ever hated it this much to leave a concert before it was finished. Great show, enthousiastic audience.
Hi everybody, I just woke up after an incredible show "Fishbone in Tivoli"!!!!
My ears are ringing too!!! And I have to go see another FB-show tonight!!! Lucky me!!!
First things first:
the set-list:
Xcuze Me
Nuttmeg World
Sunless
Beergut (super super super!!!)
Karma
Ma & Pa (everybody dancing!!!)
Go Nuttz
Cholly (fat chicks fat chicks fat chicks)
Wit It (very very cool)
Bonin (super super super)
Premadawnutt (about a girl in whose ass the sun is shining 24-7???)
Riot (Angelo jumping in the crowd with absolutely no fear, hey it was the house
was not densely packed, but we managed to get him up again..)
Skankin'
Ugly !!!
Question (yihaaaaa)
Party!!!
Encore 1
Last daze
Aids (super version, much better than on the rekid... Norwood didn't play the
full bass loop, it sounded way more dark, not as funky, but that was cool!!!)
Alcoholic (yihaaaa)
Encore 2
Freddy (was not played...., a pity, but I guess they had to shorten the set
just a little bit, they had to end the show by 24.00h)
Demon!!!
Red Hot
Tivoli is a very nice venue!!! It was not fully packed (hey, I guess there is
space for ca 1200 -1500 people), but it was a full house (just good enough
space to dance our asses off..) I guess ca 500 people (could be wrong though)
In my opinion the crowd was really enthusiastic, so we have been dancing an
awfully lot... Been up front throughout the whole concert...
Special things:
Angelo jumped in the crowd 4 times?
Angelo surfed to the PA to collect 5 Euros?
Wet daddy did a very nice drum solo...
Spacey dedicated Aids and Armageddon to Eddie Hazel, and started the song after
soloing into it....
What's the name of this band? FIIISSHHHHBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONE....
Angelo way in the back during Red Hot (more or less like Ozomatli...)
While the crowd was rather big, I did not spot Arno...
But from what I read, he also must have had a very nice evening...
I also checked out the merchandise booth, said hi to John, and filled in the
form for the mailing list (I don't think it was the list for the Nuttwork
Neighbourhood, more like a mailing list for fishbone if they have to spread the
word for next albums etc...)
Hey, I was wearing a green Nuttwork t-shirt... and I was up front all the time
And I'm looking forward to tonight... The venue is way smaller..., so I hope the it will even be more intimate...
I would like to give a lot of props to the band... They were so tight yesterday evening!!! And the new songs sound already like they have been part of fishbone forever... They are already classic tunes...
Cya,
Arne
